Bliss Sausage Rolls

You won't be able to stop at one.

Preparation Time: 60 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 120 mini sausage rolls

Ingredients
2kgs sausage mince
1kg beef mince
3 carrots, grated
2 onions, grated
1 tbs chilli
2 tbs mixed herbs
5 heaped tbs fruit chutney
1 tbs crushed garlic
1/4 cup tomato sauce
pepper & salt
13 puff pastry sheets
1 egg
milk to glaze
seasame seeds

Method
  • Preheat your oven at 200 degrees.

  • Defrost your pastry sheets.

  • Grate your onions and carrots

  • In a large bowl combine the minces, carrots, onions, garlic, herbs, chilli, chutney, tomato sauce, pepper & salt.

  • With your hands mix the ingredients until well combined.

  • Lay your pastry sheets out on the bench and cut in half.

  • Portion the filling along the sheets.

  • In a cup, crack an egg and some milk. Whisk and use this as your glaze.

  • Brush the edge of the pastry with the egg before you roll them up.

  • Put the sausage rolls onto a greased tray and brush them with more glaze.

  • Sprinkle the seasame seeds (optional) on top and cut each roll into 5 mini sausage rolls.

  • Put them into the oven and bake for 20 mins.

  • Repeat until all the pastry and filling has been used.

  • Once the sausage rolls are brown and crispy, remove from the oven and cool on a rack.
