What better way to start your day than with superfood kale in a palatable form right alongside one of your favourite berries?

Makes: 2 servings
Ingredients
1 small handful blueberries
1 large leaf of kale, torn into bits
1/2 a banana
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
Method
Wash kale and tear into smaller pieces. Put these into the blender alongside blueberries and banana.
Add milk to the fruit and leafy greens. Honey is an optional sweetener if you like your smoothies a little sweeter.
Wizz for a good 2 minutes, until the kale is well and truly pulverized and reaches a bubbly consistency. If you don't give kale long enough in the blender, it can be like eating a salad, which isn't usually a great idea at breakfast time.
Enjoy your healthy smoothie as a quick breakfast treat or between meal snack to keep you going until dinner time.
A tip: if you have bananas going brown, they can be frozen to be used at a later date for smoothies and baking. When used for smoothies, frozen bananas make the smoothie colder, just like adding ice, but without making it watery.
