Camembert Crab Cob

This crab shaped cob hides a delicious gooey filling.

Preparation Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Makes: 1 large cob

Ingredients
500g wholemeal bread flour
7g fast action yeast
½ tsp salt
1 tsp Truvia sweetener (or 25g caster sugar)
2 eggs
250ml almond milk
1 tsp mint sauce
1 tsp garlic butter
250g round camembert
3 rashers back bacon

Method



  • Mix together flour, yeast, salt, sugar, milk, and one egg to form a dough.



  • Knead the dough for ten minutes and then prove for about an hour.



  • Roll out the dough.



  • Wrap bacon around the camembert and place in the centre of the dough.



  • Fold two opposite sides of the dough over the cheese.



  • Twist the other two sides and wrap round the cob so they look like crab claws.



  • Prove for another hour.
  • Pre-heat the oven to 200 & #3872 ;C/ 180 & #3872 ;C fan/375& #3872 ;F/5 Gas.



  • Using a fork, lightly beat one egg with mint sauce and garlic butter.



  • Glaze the dough with the egg mixture.



  • Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
