I enjoy Chinese food, but I never seem to have time to make it properly. Here's a couple of ideas that will save time, but still make a delicious and impressive-looking Chinese meal. If you don't have exactly the same brands, you should be able to find something roughly equivalent.

Chicken, beef, rice, sauce, Chinese

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients
2 packets Uncle Ben's Golden Vegetable rice
330g thin beef steak
330g free-range chicken breast
1 packet Crispy Chilli Beef coating and sauce
1 packet Lemon Battered Chicken coating and sauce
2 tbsp sesame oil

Method
Tip the beef coating into a large bowl and add a pinch of salt and pepper.

Using sharp kitchen scissors (it's the easiest way) cut the beef into thin strips.

Remove the beef from the pan and soak up excess oil on kitchen paper. Cover while you prepare the chicken.

Prepare the chicken coating as you did for the beef - in a bowl with a little salt and pepper.
Cut the chicken into thin strips.

Chicken, flour, bowl

Wipe out the frying pan and then heat 1tbsp sesame oil.
Add the chicken and cook until it is cooked through and crispy.

Meanwhile, prepare the rice as per the packet instructions.
Prepare the sauces by heating them through thoroughly, either on the hob or in the microwave.

Chicken, flour, bowl

Serve in bowls on the table, allowing each person to take their own portions from the central dishes.
