Making gooey goodness could not get any easier than this. Perfect for tea time, or anytime you want, actually. If you are looking for a snack that is crunchy on the outside yet melts in your mouth, try these simple cheese sticks.
Ingredients 1 Cheese block (any kind. for more stickiness, use mozzarella. I just used cheddar)
1/4 cup plain flour
1 cup breadcrumb
Salt and pepper for seasoning
Some parsley leaves (optional)
Oil for frying
Cut the cheese block into 16 sticks
rough size of sticks
Place flour, eggs and breadcrumb into 3 separate shallow bowls or containers.
Season the flour with salt and pepper and mix them around.
Add parsley to eggs and whisk.
Cover the sticks in the following order: flour - eggs - crumbs.
To make sure that all surfaces are covered, so the cheese will not leak, make a second layer of eggs and crumbs. This will also add to the crispness.
Fry the sticks in deep fryer until golden brown. Usually just around 2 minutes so watch out.
Remove from fryer, put on paper towel to remove excess oil.
Serve hot. With own choice of dipping sauce. Or eat them on their own.
