Chicken And Vegetable Meatloaf For Dogs
Variety is the joy of life even for our little furry friends.
This meatloaf dish provides our little man with his favourite food … chicken, but also includes a diverse array of vegetables and much needed fibre. All ingredients are pre-cooked prior to being shaped into a meatloaf however for textural purposes, I bake the Chicken and Vegetable Loaf so it has a crispy crust.

Makes: 4-6 servings (depending on portion size)
Ingredients
500g Chicken Mince
2 Eggs
1 Carrot
1 Potato
½ Cup Peas
½ Cup Kale
½ Cup Brown Rice
Method
In a Teflon frying pan, dry fry the Chicken Mince until cooked (do not over-cook). Set aside to cool then finely dice the mince and place into a large bowl.
Wash the Kale, chop into large chunks and add to boiling water. Cook until the Kale has reduced in volume. Set aside to cook then finely dice the Kale and add to the Chicken Mince.
Hard boil the eggs then set aside to cool. Finely dice the eggs and add to the Chicken Mince.
Add brown rice to boiling water and cook until rice is quite soft. Drain and then add to the Chicken Mince.
Clockwise from top left ... precook all the ingredients, dice then combine the chicken mince, kale and rice into a large mixing bowl.
Dice the potato and carrot. Add the peas, carrot and potato to boiling water. Cook until soft, drain and then add to the Chicken Mince.
Clockwise from top left, add the boiled eggs and the remaining cooked vegetables potato, carrots and peas to the chicken mixture.
Using your hands, mix all the ingredients together and shape into a meatloaf.

Put the meatloaf on a baking tray and place into a pre-heated 180°C oven. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a golden and crispy crust forms.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Slice the meatloaf into portions and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until required.
