Chicken Steak with Dauphinoise Potatoes and Vegetables

Juicy, succulent steaks with creamy Dauphinoise potatoes, creamy mushrooms, and butter beans and peas.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 60 minutes
Serves: 6

Ingredients
For chicken
1 kg chicken steaks
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika powder
1/2 teaspoon thyme
2 tablespoon ketchup
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
1 tablespoon cooking oil

For Dauphinoise potatoes
500 g potatoes
300 ml heavy cream
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shredded cheese
2 tablespoons butter

For mushroom sauce
400 g mushroom
300 ml heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon minced garlic
3 tablespoon shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For beans and peas
200 g green beans
1 cup frozen peas
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika powder
Salt to taste

Method
  • Put garlic powder, paprika powder, thyme, ketchup, red chilli powder, salt and black pepper in a bowl.
  • Mix everything together and marinate the chicken steaks.
  • Keep it aside for at least 2 hours.
  • Heat oil in a gridle pan and cook the steaks for about 10 minutes on each side.


  • For mushroom sauce
  • Heat butter in a pan, add minced garlic and fry for few minutes.
  • Add sliced mushroom and cook for another 3 minutes.
  • Add cream, cheese, salt and black pepper.
  • When the sauce starts getting thicker, turn the flame off.

  • For dauphinoise potatoes
  • Pre-heat oven at 200 degree celsius.
  • Slice the potatoes and spread in an oven proof dish.
  • Mix cream, garlic powder and salt together.
  • Pour the cream mixture all over the potatoes.
  • Sprinkle the cheese evenly on top.
  • Bake in the pre-heated oven for 45-50 minutes.

  • For beans and peas
  • Trim the edges of the beans.
  • Heat butter in a pan.
  • Add beans and peas.
  • Fry for 4 minutes on high flame.

  • Add garlic powder, paprika powder and salt.
  • Fry for another 4 minutes on high flame.
  • Put a piece of steak in a plate, pour some mushroom sauce on top and side of the steak.
  • Put Dauphinoise potatoes, beans and peas on sides of the steak and serve.
