Choco Nut Slice

Choco Nut Slice

This delicious slice is something I could eat everyday of the week. It's like a chocolate bar, but it's healthier because it is made with raw cacao and naturally sweetened with honey.

Chocolate goodness

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 0 minutes
Makes: 5-6 slices

Ingredients
6 tablespoons of almond spread
4 tablespoons of honey
3 tablespoons raw cacao
4 tablespoons of coconut oil
4 tablespoons of walnuts
pinch of salt

Method
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the raw cacao, honey, coconut oil, salt and almond spread and mix well until all combined.

  • Chocolate mixture should look like this

  • Chop the walnuts into smaller pieces and add to the bowl mixing well until all combined.

  • Add walnuts and mix well

  • To set, line a ceramic baking dish with some baking paper and spoon in the mixture.
  • With a spatula smooth out the top and place into the fridge over night to set.

  • Smooth out with a spatula and place in the fridge

  • When slice has set lift out of the dish by pulling up the sides of the baking paper.
  • This slice melts quickly so be sure to act fast.
  • Cut into slices and place into a container and back into the fridge.
  • Take the slice out of the fridge when you are ready to eat it.

  • Notes
  • This slice can be made using cashew nut spread or peanut butter instead, but I have tried the peanut butter and the peanut butter flavour really takes over. I have not tried the cashew yet, but I really like the almond as it is crunchy and the cashew spread is smooth.
  • Cocoa powder can be used if you do not have raw cacao.
