Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcakes

These are wonderfully moist and best cupcakes ever.

These cupcakes are rich, chocolatey with an indulgent cream cheese filling.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 12

Ingredients
FOR THE FILLING
230 gm cream cheese
1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup chocolate chips

FOR THE CUPCAKES
1 1/3 cup plain flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Method
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree C. Line a muffin pan with cupcake liner.
  • Prepare the filling by beating cream cheese, egg, and sugar in a bowl, until fluffy.
  • Add chocolate chips and mix. Keep it aside.
  • Prepare cupcake mixture by whisking flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add water, vegetable oil, apple cider vinegar and vanilla essence.
  • Stir everything together until everything is incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared muffin cups.
  • Fill about 1/3 of each cupcake liner.
  • Add a teaspoon full of cream cheese filling on top of the batter.

  • Bake at 180 degree C until the cream cheese filling appears set and when you insert toothpick in cupcakes it comes out clean.
  • Serve as is or with cream cheese frosting.
