Chocolate Hazelnut and Strawberry Home Made Pizza

Chocolate Hazelnut and Strawberry Home Made Pizza

Posted 2015-08-15 by finyfollow

Last time I made a pizza I made the dough by hand and this time I decided to try it in the bread machine, which is something I have never done before, and was quite hesitant about.

It worked beautifully and the dough was smooth, pliable and easy to work with.

I then kept it in plastic wrap for about 5 hours at which time it continued to rise and was still very easy to work with.

The end result was delectable and although I had eaten a meal, I ate one pizza, with a dollop of cream on top - DELIGHTFUL, and I have enough dough in the freezer to make another lot.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 70 minutes (if using machine)
Makes: 8 servings

Ingredients
For the dough
200 ml water
1 tblsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
2½ cups bread or plain flour
1¾ tsp [link http://reviewclue.com.au/tandaco-dry-yeast/ yeast]

For the topping
1 punnet [link http://reviewclue.com.au/large-strawberries-by-son-grower/ strawberries]
Up to ½ cup chocolate hazelnut spread (Nutella)
Bit of melted butter
Bit of sliced basil (optional)
Icing sugar
Cream (optional)

Method
For the dough
  • Mix all the ingredients in the above order, whether you are doing it by hand or in a machine.

  • If in the machine, put the setting to Pizza dough. If doing by hand you will have to mix and cover and let it stand to rise for about 1 hour in a warm spot.
  • I then froze half of the dough

  • Preheat the oven to about 210° fan forced.

  • Roll out the dough on some baking paper, into about 15 cm rounds, or whatever shape you want and brush with some melted butter. You can make whatever thickness you want.
  • I made one round and one square

  • Put the small pizza bases on baking paper on a stone or flat tray, and cook for about 6 or 7 minutes or until the dough is starting to go a golden colour.

  • For the topping
  • Cut the strawberries in half and then in half again, making them slices.

  • Spread the chocolate-hazelnut spread on to the cooked bases.

  • Arrange the strawberries on top.

  • If using basil put this on also, and top with a bit of sifted icing sugar.

  • Return to the oven for another minute, and let rest for a few minutes.

  • Cut in halves or quarters, add a blob of cream (optional), and eat.
