Chocolate Porridge on Toast
Before you judge, we implore you to give this idea a try!
We came up with this idea one day while day dreaming about the ultimate breakfast - which we do a fair bit! We jumped straight into the kitchen to give it a go, and were happily mind-blown at the result.
Try topping the toast with slices of apple, banana or pear for a little extra indulgence and a little extra fruit intake.
If you're not a fan of cacao, feel free to mix in cinnamon, turmeric, nutmeg etc. instead, or substitute it with your favourite nut or seed butter.
Drizzled with chocolate syrup
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1
Ingredients
1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup almond milk
2 teaspoon raw cacao powder
1 slice sourdough bread
Method
Throw oats and milk into a medium saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring consistently for 3-5 mins.
When thick and creamy, stir through cacao and remove from the heat.
Toast the bread and top with the porridge. Serve alone or with a handful of nuts, or slices of apple, banana or pear.
