Chunky Tomato Pasta Sauce

It's always good to have a few basic recipes mastered and this chunky tomato sauce is quick and easy. It's great alone with pasta or add it to meatballs for a more substantial meal. If you're vegetarian, just change the stock cube to a vegetable one.

Homemade tomato pasta sauce

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

Olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1 onion
2 crushed garlic cloves
1 can of tinned tomatoes
1 beef stock cube
Dash of Worcester sauce
Dash balsamic vinegar
1 tsp dried mixed herbs

Chop the onion and crush the garlic.
Gently soften the onion and garlic in olive oil over a medium heat.

Sprinkle over the sugar and dried herbs.

Add in the tinned tomatoes and then pep it all up with a dash of Worcester sauce and balsamic vinegar. Taste a little and add more to your taste.
Crumble in a stock cube and splash of water and then simmer for a few minutes.

This delicious sauce is now ready to use. I enjoyed mine smothered over meatballs with a little Parmesan grated on top.
