Coco Bites

This is a very simple chocolate recipe that even a 5-year-old could do. It does not require an oven nor mixer. I am a chocolate and nuts lover. You only require 4 easy-to-get ingredients and 5 simple steps to create beautiful chocoballs.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-15 minutes
Makes: 5-10 servings

Ingredients:

  • Cocopops Cereal
  • Nestle’s Dark/ Milk/ White cooking Chocolate: I use dark chocolate since it’s less sweeter and seems healthier! :p
  • Toasted Silvered and/or Sliced Almonds (smells better and more crunchy if toasted)
  • Colourful baking mini-cups papers (separate the papers before you start cooking)

  • I do not have the exact measurement for each ingredient since I just play around in my kitchen. If you like more cocopops/almonds, then you can add more according to your liking. The melted chocolate works as a glue for the cocopops and almonds.

    Method:

  • Melt the chocolate in a stainless steel bowl by putting it on boiling water. Don’t let the water get into the chocolate, it would affect the taste.

  • While melting the chocolate, toast the almonds (you can use silvered and sliced almonds at the same time for different textures) until golden brown. You can toast the nuts before hand and keep them in a container for later use.

  • After the chocolate is melted, pour cocopops cereal and slowly mix within until it’s evenly covered with chocolate.

  • Put the toasted almonds in and mix it well. Make sure there’s enough melted chocolate to glue the cocopops and almonds together.

  • After putting the mixture into the cups, garnish with toasted almonds again so it looks prettier! Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes in the fridge.

  • Voila! You are now ready to eat!

    Notes:

  • Separate the mini cups first before you start cooking so it’s convenient for you to put the mixture into the cups later.

  • Do not leave the mixture for too long because it cools down easily. Make sure it stays hot.

  • Make sure the cocopops and almonds are all covered with the melted chocolate (not soaked). The mixture shouldn’t be too dry.
