Cocoa Weetbix Slice

Weetbix is at the heart of every Aussie kid, this recipe is another fantastic use for the humble breakfast biscuit.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 10 servings

Ingredients
4 Weetbix biscuits
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/2 cup wholemeal flour
1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 honey
1/2 cup Butter
Dash vanilla essence

Method
  • Crush the Weetbix and mix in a bowl with the coconut, chocolate chips, cocoa and flour.

  • Crushing Weetbix, oddly satisfying


  • In a separate bowl mix the melted butter, vanilla essence and honey.

  • Dry ingredients


  • Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix well.
  • If the mixture is dry add a splash of milk.

  • Moist mixture


  • Transfer to a well lined baking dish and press the mixture down firmly.

  • Press firm so it doesnt crumble


  • Bake at 170 for 20 mins or until firm to the touch.
  • Wait until the mixture is cool and cut into squares.

  • Baked


    Optional make a simple chocolate icing and pour into the slice when it is still warm so it melds together, sprinkle with coconut. Wait for it to cool and cut.

    Enjoy with a cup of coffee


  • Enjoy with coffee or put them in your child's lunch box, they are delicious and healthier then the average chocolate slice.

  • Perfect on a cold day
