It might look like ordinary mash but it packs a punch
If you're looking to jazz up some mashed potatoes then give this a try. It's simple to do but really lifts the potatoes. It's great served with roasts or a simple dinner of oven baked pork chops.
You don't need to be exact about quantities, just taste as you go. It's also easy to scale this up to feed more people with the only extra time being the peeling of extra potatoes.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 2 servings
Ingredients
5 mid sized potatoes (Desiree are good for mashing)
30g butter
2 large heaped teaspoons of horseradish sauce
30ml single cream
Method
Peel and boil the potatoes until fully cooked (approx 20 minutes but it will depend how small you cut them)

Cooked and ready to mash
Drain the potatoes and then roughly mash them.
Add the butter and mash well.
Stir through the cream and horseradish sauce.

The cream makes the mash smooth and the horseradish sauce gives it a kick
Taste the mashed potato and if you want more of a kick just add some more horseradish sauce.
