Crispy Baked Schnitzel

Love schnitzels but hate the pool of oil needed to cook them? Then this recipe is for you. A healthier variation of the traditional schnitzel, this oven-baked option is just as crispy and requires a lot less clean up.


Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 7 servings

Ingredients



Veal schnitzels
2 cups fresh breadcrumbs
1 cup plain flour
3 eggs, beaten
Olive oil spray
Vegeta

Method
  • Preheat oven to 200°C (fan forced), and line two baking trays with baking paper.
  • Place breadcrumbs and flour in separate plates, and egg in a deeper plate or container.
  • Season schnitzels with Vegeta on both sides before coating in flour, egg, then breadcrumbs. Make sure to shake off excess flour, egg and breadcrumbs.







  • Place schnitzels on baking tray, and spray both sides of schnitzels with olive oil.
  • Bake in oven for 15 minutes.
  • Turn schnitzels over and bake for a further 5 minutes or until crumb is golden.



  • Serve with your favourite side.
