Crispy Milo Bars
Crunchy, chewy and simply perfect for the school lunchbox. A delightful snack for the kids that is cheap and quick to make. Sounds like a winner to me!
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooling Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 6 bars plus leftover bites!
Ingredients
4 cups Rice Bubbles
120 g butter
¼ cup caster sugar
½ cup Milo
2 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp honey
Method
Melt butter in a non-stick saucepan.
Add sugar, golden syrup, honey and milo. Stir well and simmer for 2-3 minutes until mix thickens and bubbles. A lovely toffee like consistency will form.
Add Rice Bubbles and stir well.
Press mix into a slice tin that has been lined with baking paper. Use the back of a metal spoon to smooth surface.
Sprinkle with a little additional Milo.
Place in fridge to set for 30 minutes.
Cut into 6 bars with a sharp knife. I trim the edges and make little bites with the leftovers.
