Combining a favorite chocolate bar with a favorite bake can only be a good thing.

This easy to prepare brownie is a delight. Delicious to eat warm with ice-cream, or accompanying a rich hot coffee. File this recipe away for the days when a rich slice is all that will do.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Makes:12 generous slices

Ingredients
125g dark chocolate
175g butter
3 large eggs
275g caster sugar
75g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
150g roughly chopped nuts (eg pecans walnuts brazil - whatever you have or a mixture)
3 Cadbury Curly Wurly bars

Method
  • Preheat the oven to 170 degrees (fan-forced).
  • Grease and line an oblong brownie tin with baking paper, making sure the paper extends over the sides of the tin (for lifting out the brownie later).
  • Break up the chocolate and place it in a bowl with the butter (chopped) over a saucepan of simmering water. The bowl should not touch the water.

  • When it has melted (5-10 minutes) take it off the heat.
  • Whisk the eggs and the sugar together.

  • Mix all of the other ingredients, except the Curly Wurly bars, into the egg mix.

  • Pour the mixture into the lined brownie tin.
  • Snip the Curly Wurly bars into segments and arrange over the top of the mix.

  • Bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the top has crackled and the brownie has slightly shrunken away from the sides.
  • Cool in the tin before turning out and cutting into servings.
