Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Makes:12 generous slices
Ingredients
125g dark chocolate
175g butter
3 large eggs
275g caster sugar
75g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
150g roughly chopped nuts (eg pecans walnuts brazil - whatever you have or a mixture)
3 Cadbury Curly Wurly bars
Method
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees (fan-forced).
Grease and line an oblong brownie tin with baking paper, making sure the paper extends over the sides of the tin (for lifting out the brownie later).
Break up the chocolate and place it in a bowl with the butter (chopped) over a saucepan of simmering water. The bowl should not touch the water.
When it has melted (5-10 minutes) take it off the heat.
Whisk the eggs and the sugar together.
Mix all of the other ingredients, except the Curly Wurly bars, into the egg mix.
Pour the mixture into the lined brownie tin.
Snip the Curly Wurly bars into segments and arrange over the top of the mix.
Bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the top has crackled and the brownie has slightly shrunken away from the sides.
Cool in the tin before turning out and cutting into servings.
