Ingredients Split Red Gram (Toor Dal) - 1/2 cup
Bengal gram spilt (Chana Dal) - 1/4 cup
Green gram (Moong Dal)- 2.5 tbsp
Onion -1 chopped finely
Tomato - 1 medium size finely chopped
Ginger- garlic paste 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Water - 2 cup
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1 tsp
Butter - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 4 to 5
Red Chilli - 1 whole
Asafoetida - pinch
Method ●Mix all lentils and wash well and soak for 20 minutes.
●Take pressure cooker adds water, mix lentils and turmeric powder.
●Close the cooker and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
●Now take a frying pan, heat the oil and butter add mustard seeds, red chilli, cumin seeds. When the cumin seed starts to crackle add as asafoetida, curry leaves and ginger-garlic paste then saute for 2 seconds.
●Now add onion till they get brown burnt in colour in medium heat to this add the chopped tomatoes and cook for a minute.
●Next add cooked lentils and mix them well.
●Bring to a boil and simmer at least for 5 minutes.
