Date and Coconut Balls

These balls are so, so good. They are my mothers recipe and I was so excited when she told me they were vegan! I have eaten about 30 since Christmas. These are easy to make and a great base, you can swap the seeds for nuts and the coconut for chocolate nibs or any other sweet you desire.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 0 minutes
Makes: 40 servings

Ingredients
250 grams dried dates - softened
100 grams sultanas
1/2 cup cacao
1/4 cup black chia seeds
1/4 cup black sesame seeds
1/4 coconut oil (or liquid of choice)
1/4 cup of coconut

Method
  • Blend the dates and sultanas in a blender until it is smooth but still thick. Add oil as needed so it blends. Transfer to a bowl.

  • Add in the cacao, chia seeds and sesame seeds and stir until combined.
  • Once you have a thick dough form into balls and roll in the coconut.

  • Devour.

  • NOTES:
These keep well in the fridge or the freezer, keep in the fridge for 2 weeks plus and in the freezer for 3 months.
