Decadent Homemade Chocolate Cobbler

Part cake, part chocolate lava, this cobbler is an extremely gooey, choco-licious dessert that will satisfy any chocoholic's cravings.

However, don't be deceived by how it looks; as they say, appearances can be deceiving, and this is one of those dishes that tastes a lot more gratifying than it looks.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Makes: 6 decadent servings

1 cup all purpose flour
cup coarse white sugar
cup packed light brown sugar
cup milk
⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
4 and 3 tablespoons cocoa, separated
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
teaspoon salt
1 cups hot water
vanilla ice-cream, to serve

Preheat oven to 170C.
In a bowl, mix together flour, white sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt.

Add in milk, butter and vanilla, stirring until smooth.
Pour the mixture into a glass baking pan. (I used a 9-inch one).
In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar with remaining cocoa.

Sprinkle over batter.

Pour hot water over. Do not stir the mixture.

Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes then remove and leave it to set for about 15 minutes before serving.

Serve with a scoop of ice-cream and chocolate sauce from the bottom of the pan.
