I have never tried to make any kind of doughnut before and these don't exactly look like balls, but they are just how I hoped they would be. Golden and delicious.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
250 grams plain flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
67 grams raw castor sugar
120 millilitres full cream milk
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
Pinch of salt
rice bran oil for frying
200 grams raw castor sugar for the coating
2 teaspoons cinnamon for coating
Salted caramel sauce
Method
For the sauce use this recipe
Salted caramel sauce
Heat about 500 ml of rice bran oil to 180 degrees celcius
In large bowl, combine flour, 67 g sugar, baking powder, salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and vanilla.
Stir in milk, olive oil, vanilla and egg just until dry ingredients are combined.

Dougnut mixture just combined don't over mix it
Use a small scoop to drop teaspoonfuls into hot oil, 2-3 at a time.
Fry the doughnut balls 1 1/2 minutes on each side until deep golden brown.

Drain the doughnuts on paper towel.

In a small bowl, mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon and roll the doughnut balls in it until all well coated.
Place doughnuts on a plate and continue to fry the remaining batter until all cooked. For the sauce place 2-3 tablespoons of sauce into a ramekin and serve.
Note if your sauce has been in the fridge, you can heat it for 10-15 seconds in the microwave before serving.
