This garlic bread recipe is quick and simple. If you love Italian food then the garlic bread makes a great starter to go with pizza and pasta dishes. You could even have it as a snack with some hummus, guacamole or sun dried tomatoes. For this recipe half-baked petit pains have been used. These are bread rolls that have been partially baked and can be finished off at home. They take 8-10 minutes with the oven on 190C. Ready to eat rolls/baps can also be used, you’ll just need to adjust the length of time they are in the oven.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 4-6 servings (depends on whether it is a snack or starter)
Ingredients 6 bread rolls
2 garlic cloves
A few sprigs of parsley or basil
Anchor butter and 2 cloves of garlic
Take 40g of butter and place it in a microwave safe plate. Some butter packs have the measurements on them so you won’t have to get the scales out.
Finely grate 2 cloves of garlic in to the same plate. Microwave for 1 minute in bursts of 20 seconds. After each 20 second burst, stir the garlic and butter mix. Do this until the butter is nice and runny.
Line the baking tray with foil.
Slice the bread rolls in half.
Use a glazing brush to glaze the rolls with the garlic and butter mix.
Remember to mix the garlic with the melted butter before glazing
Pop them in the oven for 8-10 minutes on 190C. This recipe can also be made in the microwave oven.
After the time is up, using oven gloves take out the tray and sprinkle the parsley/basil over the rolls.
