Eggs in White Nests

If you are looking for something slightly different for both children and parents alike, look no further!

These cute egg nests taste delicious and look so interesting.

Easy to make, they are even nicer with a bit of bacon on the side.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 3 - 6 servings

Ingredients
6 eggs, separated
50 g grated cheese
Bacon (optional)
Toast

Method
  • Preheat oven to 190°C fan forced.
  • If making them with bacon, start to fry the bacon while you do the eggs.
  • Beat the eggs whites till they form a stiff mixture - I used my Kenwood Chef for this, but as long as your beaters have no water or egg yolk on them, any method should be OK.

  • Fold in the cheese carefully.
  • Divide the mixture into six, and place them on a tray lined with baking paper.
  • Make a small indentation in the middle of each mixture.
  • Bake for a few minutes,, and then add the yolks of the eggs in the indentation in each one.

  • Put back in the oven for about 2 - 4 minutes, and serve with toast.
