Fenugreek Paratha

is a healthy and delicious dish, made of wheat flour and fenugreek leaves. It is a good option reduce the blood sugar level and for reducing cholesterol . It can be relished with pickle and yoghurt.

Ingredients
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup Fenugreek leaves

2 spoon curd
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp carom seeds
½ tsp red chilli powder
1 ½ tsp coriander powder
1 pinch turmeric powder

Oil
Salt to taste

Method

Preparation of dough
  • Chop the fenugreek leaves into small pieces. Wash it thoroughly and drain the excess water.

  • Take some wheat flour in a mixing bowl and mix it with the chopped fenugreek. Add curd, carom seeds, cumin seeds, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to the bowl.

  • Now add a little water and mix it slowly, to make soft dough. Knead the dough for some time to make it softer.

  • Add 1/2 tsp of oil on a plate and grease it. Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes more on the greased surface. Now, keep the dough aside for 5 minutes.

    Preparation of paratha
  • Make small balls of the dough, dividing it into equal parts.

  • Roll the balls into a circular shape, to make the paratha.

  • Dust the paratha with dry flour, to prevent it from sticking to the base while rolling.
  • Place a pan and keep it on a low flame. Transfer the parathas, one at a time, on the pan. When the color of the paratha starts changing to brown, flip it to the other side. You may apply a thin layer of oil on it. Flip the paratha again and ensure that it turns golden brown in color from both the sides.

  • Remove the paratha from the pan and serve them hot, with yoghurt or with the pickle of your choice.
