My fig hor d'ouvers are great savoury and sweet party nibbles. You might want to triple the amount, even if it's a small get together, because these are incredibly moreish.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 2 servings
Ingredients
3 ripe figs
Honey
Savoury ingredients:
Feta cheese
Black pepper
Sweet ingredients:
200g Almonds
Greek yogurt
Method
Wash the figs and slice in half.
Place the almonds on a baking tray and place in the oven for 8 minutes at 200 degrees/gas mark 5.
Place two chunks of feta into each half of the figs.
Place in the oven for 5 minutes at 200 degrees/gas mark 5.
Remove from the oven, toss, and place back in the oven for 5 minutes.
Remove the almonds from the oven, place in a plastic bag and 'bash' the almonds by hitting the bag against the counter - you want to crush them roughly.
With the remaining figs place on a serving tray, add a dollop of Greek yogurt.
Top with a few crushed almonds.
Remove the figs from the oven, season with black pepper and using a spoon, drizzle lightly with honey.
Plate up, and watch them fly.
