What can I say about this dish? Steak, mushroom sauce and carrots. My idea of perfection. When it comes to cooking there are three main degrees of cooking for steak. Rare, medium and well done. I like mine medium but you can cook this to suit your liking.

Perfectly Plated steak with mushroom sauce and rainbow carrots
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 4
Ingredients
1 packet of rainbow carrots
4 fillet steaks
250 g sliced button mushrooms
1 tablespoon of butter
150ml of thickened cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1 clove of garlic
Method
Peel carrots and keep the tops on.
Bring a pot of water to the boil.
Add carrots and cook for approximately 5-6 minutes for medium cooked.
While the carrots cook heat a little oil in a large fry pan on high add in steaks and sear on both sides.
Cook steaks to your liking 2-3 minutes for rare, 4 minutes for medium and 5-6 for well done.
To make the sauce add butter to a saucepan over medium heat.
Add mushrooms and stir cooking until slightly browned.
Add in cream, salt and pepper.
Turn the heat down to low and stir occasionally.
When sauce reduces by half ir is almost ready.
Add in a clove of garlic crushed. Stir through and set aside.
To serve place one steak on each plate with one of each colour of carrot. Spoon over some mushroom sauce and you're done.
