
Finys Brown rice
This is a healthy rice which is easy to prepare and goes with a lot of dishes.
You could use white rice instead of brown however I prefer the healthier brown nutty rice, together with the cashews.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
100 g brown long rice
Pinch turmeric
70 g cashews
1 tsp cummin seeds
2 tbsp dessicated coconut
Salt and pepper
Method
Boil the rice as per packet instructions. I always turn it off just before it is ready and leave it a few minutes before rinsing.
Thoroughly rinse the rice and allow to dry.

Draining rice
Heat a bit of oil in a frypan, add the rice and stir fry for about 3 minutes.

Frying boiled rice

Adding cashews
Add the cummin seeds or powder and coconut.
Stir fry for another 3 minutes or so.
