Fried Shrimp Paste Chicken Wings

I would say this is by far the best fried chicken wings recipe. It is very simple to prepare and makes a great finger food for a party too.



Preparation Time: 60 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients
4 chicken wings, cut into 2 (winglets & drumlets)
2 tbsp vegetable oil

Marinade
1 tbsp shrimp paste
3/4 tsp sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp ginger juice, grate some ginger & squeeze the pulp
1/2 tsp Shao Xing cooking wine

Method
  • In a bowl, combine the marinade ingredients until a paste is formed.



  • Marinate the chicken with the sauce for an hour in the fridge.



  • Just before deep-frying, add corn flour to the marinade chicken. Stir to coat evenly.



  • Heat oil in a deep fryer and fry the marinated chicken until golden brown and crispy. Drain cooked chicken on paper towels before serving.
