Green Boost Juice

Your whole health... In one glass of green juice.

With so many diet crazes around, think of this not as a diet drink, but more of a health drink. This is a drink that is full of antioxidants, anti inflammatory elements, vitamins A, B, C along with cell repair properties to make your skin feel and look younger. If you want to be healthy or are concerned about your health, one glass of green juice (juiced freshly from seasonal and fresh ingredients) will bring you back to life.

There is no rule as to what you should juice and we all know the greener, the better. It all depends on what you can stomach. Personally I don't mind drinking spinach or kale, especially when partnered with some fresh apples, kiwi or pears (as these ingredients take the bitterness out) but without doubt the key ingredient here is cucumber; it juices easily and is basically water, yet it is full of antioxidants and repairs your skin. I absolutely love juicing and experiment with juicing on a daily basis. It is not always about achieving sweetness or taste, as it is about achieving a beautiful drink that will literally give you a boost for life.

Drinking green based juices has made me feel energised, fresh and stronger without doubt. I recommend a juice 'diet' to anyone, even if the diet consists of just one glass of juice a day. The fibre in the juice aids digestion and helps the body process food and your cells renew themselves.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: No cooking required
Makes: 1.5 litres

1 bunch of silverbeet
1 bunch of buk choy
1 bunch of kale
5 cucumbers
4 carrots
2 green apples
2 pears

Wash all your vegetable and fruit thoroughly.

Slice all your fruits and vegetables and get them ready for blending.

Blend all the ingredients. You may need to push the silverbeet and kale through with the juicier ingredients like apples and cucumber (depending on the juicing appliance you have).

Serve up with ice and keep in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
