Hawaiian Pineapple Bacon and Cheese Toastie
This is great for a night when you don't feel like cooking a full meal. It is also good for topping on a pizza and is generally called "Hawaiian".
It is filling, and the flavours of cheese, pineapple and bacon are delicious when mixed together.
You can use either fresh or canned pineapple, and I used [link http://recipeyum.com.au/home-made-sourdough-bread-with-walnuts-sunflower-seeds/ home made bread], which made it even nicer.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 1 serving
Ingredients
1 slice bread
3 pieces shortcut bacon
1 - 2 slices of cheese
Ring of pineapple, or crushed pineapple
A pinch of curry powder
Bit of pepper
Method
Put the bacon between two pieces of absorbent paper, and cook in the microwave for a few minutes.
Toast one side of the bread slightly under the grill.
Add the bacon on the untoasted side of the bread.
If using two pieces of cheese, add one.
Add the pineapple, curry powder, and pepper.
Add the second piece of cheese.
Put under the grill for about 2 or 3 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
Cut in half and eat.
I had it with shredded carrot.
