Healthy Green Gram & Oats Chaat

‘Chaat’ is a unique Indian delicacy which is loved by people of all ages. You may relish just the same, even if your tummy is full. ‘green gram and oats chaat’ is a variety of chaat which is healthy yet very tasty.



Soaking time: 3-4 hrs
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 6-7 servings

Ingredients
1 cup green gram
1/2 cup Oats
1 cup curd
Tamarind and Mint Chutney (these are easily available in any Indian grocery store)
Finely chopped coriander leaves
1 finely chopped onion
1/2 spoon cumin powder
1/2 spoon black pepper
Chickpea noodles ( Barik sev - available in any Indian store)
Salt to taste

Method

Mix a little water and green chillies to green grams (pre-soaked in water) and grind it properly.

Mix the above mixture with oats, salt, cumin powder, black pepper and coriander leaves in a pan and let it cook for 5 min to make the dough a little soft. Oats shall help to act as a good binding agent.



Now make small balls of the dough and flatten give it a shape of round cutlet.



Heat a flat pan and add 2-3 tsp of oil and roast the cutlets on it till it turns golden brown in color.



Once the cutlets are ready, transfer it to a plate. Add curd, tamarind chutney, mint chutney and garnish it with coriander leaves,chopped onions and barik sev (Indian mixture).



Your yummy chat is now ready to be relished.
