Healthy Meat and Three Veg
A classic 'meat and two veg' meal traditionally conjures up images of a Sunday roast, however we live in modern times and my meat and three veg couldn't be further from a meal of beef with peas and carrots either side.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 2 servings
Ingredients
2 turkey steaks
6 sprigs of purple sprouting broccoli
6 kale sprigs
A bunch of spinach
25g of butter
Black pepper
Tumeric
Marjoram
Rosemary
Mixed spice
Coconut oil
Method
Rub the coconut oil into the turkey then add all the seasoning and ensure each steak is completely covered.
Place the steaks under the grill on a medium heat for 20 minutes.
Wash all vegetables then places the broccoli and kale in a saucepan of boiling water for 10 minutes.
Turn the turkey steaks over after 10 minutes.
Trim the ends of the spinach and set aside.
Once the vegetables are cooked drain in a colander and dip the kale and broccoli 'in' the butter, which makes for a nice dressing.
Place the cooked vegetables on to a plate and add the now cooked turkey steaks. Garnish with the raw spinach and your meal is ready.
Raw vegetables in addition to a cooked meal really ups the nutritional content of a meal, and provides a nice contrast to other cooked foods.
