Healthy Onion Bhajis

Being baked instead of fried and with no need for oil, these onion bhajis are a healthy version of one of the most popular Indian takeaway snacks.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Makes: 6 servings

Ingredients
1 onion
1 egg
½ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp cumin seeds
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp chilli powder
20g plain flour

Method

  • Pre-heat the oven to 200 & #3872 ;C/ 180 & #3872 ;C fan/400 & #3872 ;F/6 Gas.



  • Slice the onion thinly using mandolin.



  • Mix with the flour and spices.



  • Beat an egg with a fork and then mix in.



  • Divide the mixture into six and flatten into fritters.



  • Bake in the oven for 40 minutes.
