Homemade Oat Milk
Non-dairy milks are lovely, aren't they? Ideal for those intolerant to dairy, they're great, but often quite expensive.
I've been enjoying oat milk as of late, but costing $5.00 per carton I thought I'd try and make my own. It is unbelievably easy, and really, really tasty.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 1 litre
Ingredients
250g dry rolled oats
Tsp ground cinnamon
Tblsp coconut water
Method
Add all ingredients to a blender and blitz until smooth.
Balance a large sieve with fine holes in a larger bowl, where at least 4 inches of space are between the sieve and the bottom of the bowl.
If the liquid is failing to drip through the sieve give it a stir - you will end up with a wet pulp once all of the liquid has drained.
Once sieved, pour the milk into a suitable receptacle.
Keep in the fridge for up to one week. Do not fret if there's a watery top to the oat milk, just give it a little stir.
Use as you would any other non-dairy 'milk'.
