Homemade Milk Chocolate

Homemade Milk Chocolate

Posted 2015-12-16 by Bastion Harrisonfollow

Practically everyone loves chocolate, but most of what you get off the shelf contains a lot of sugar, palm oil and other added ingredients. This is in part to make production cheaper, to give it a longer shelf life, and also to appeal to the mass market's sweet tooth.

Wouldn't it be great if you could make your own, and wouldn't that be an extra special gift for someone rather than just buying a box of chocolates?

All the ingredients you need should be available in good health food shops.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 18 cups or 3 bars

Ingredients
100g cacao liquor
100g cocoa butter
100g milk powder
50g coconut oil
1 tbsp Truvia sweetener (or 100g caster sugar)

Method

  • Melt ½ the cacao liquor over a pan of hot water, then remove from the heat.
  • Stir in the remaining cacao liquor until melted.

  • Grate the coco butter, and gradually stir into the cacao liquor until melted.

  • Return to the heat and gradually stir in the milk powder until fully incorporated.
  • Stir in the sweetener/sugar and coconut oil until fully incorporated.

  • Pour into silicon fairy cake cases or silicon bar mould.

  • Leave to set before removing from the moulds.
