
Ready to eat
This is an unusual combination of foods and cabbage can be put together with many things, both sweet and savoury to produce a fine tasting dish.
In this recipe, it has both sweet (pineapple) and savoury.
Eat it as a main meal or have it on the side.

Cooking Time: 12 minutes
Makes: 2 servings as a main
Ingredients
1 small kumara
1 small onion, chopped
¼ cabbage, shredded
2 cups bean sprouts
½ medium red capsicum, sliced
220 g can unsweetened pineapple pieces, drained
½ tbsp hoisin sauce
½ tbsp soy sauce
½ tbsp honey
Method
Cut the kumara (sweet potato) into chips; boil or steam until JUST tender
Heat oil in a frypan or wok, add onion and cook for about 2 minutes or until onion is soft.
Mix the soy, hoisin, and honey to a smooth paste.
Add the cabbage, sprouts, and red capsicum to the pan, and stir over medium heat for a further 2 minutes.
Now add the sauce to this.
Stir for another few minutes and serve.
