Offset all those chocolate eggs with a delicious and filling Easter-inspired sweet treat.

A brilliant complement to a cup of tea

Doesn't look like hot cross buns. Doesn't use flour, sugar or yeast.

But it is sweet, spiced, fruity and surprisingly reminiscent of hot cross buns!

Make it in the time it takes to boil the kettle.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Resting Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 10 small servings

Ingredients
1/2 cup almonds
1 cup mixed dried fruit
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup dates
1/4 teaspoon mixed spice

Method

  • Line a small tin (any shape) with plastic wrap.
  • In a food processor, chop almonds into large crumbs.
