Hummus With Spicy Paprika

This is easy to make and is a tasty dip to serve with crackers on platters. It can also be used as a sandwich spread.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 6 hours
Serves: 1

Ingredients
400g can chickpeas, drained
2 tbsp tahini
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 lemon, juiced
2 tbsp olive oil
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp spicy paprika
1/8 tsp chilli

Method
  • Add chickpeas, garlic, tahini, salt and lemon juice into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Add 1 tbsp of olive oil and blend.

  • [Image2 Use a hand or electric blender to combine the ingredients]

  • Add spicy paprika, chilli and remaining olive oil and blend until combined.
  • Refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight for best result.
  • Serve with crackers.

    Tips
  • While the hummus can be served immediately the flavours intensify if refrigerated overnight.
  • Double the ingredients and use the extra hummus as a healthy sandwich spread.
