A chili recipe for those of us who hate beans. Named after Ben's Chili Bowl, a United States restaurant.

Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 6 servings
Ingredients
3 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cloves minced garlic
1 chopped onion
5 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp sugar
1 kg ground beef
1 cup tomato paste
2 cups beef broth
6 tbsp cornmeal
Method
Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high.
Add garlic and onion. Stir until golden brown.
Add chili powder and sugar. Fry for 2 minutes.
Add ground beef and brown evenly.
Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, cornmeal and salt.
Reduce heat to low and simmer until the chili is very thick.
(optional)
Top with:
Shredded cheese, sour cream and tomatoes.
