yummy

It may sound a bit strange, but these cookies actually do help with lactation. The secret ingredient is the Brewer's Yeast which encourages the milk production, stimulates the "let down response" and leaves you with a happy baby. Ahhh. Anyone who has had difficulty with milk supply (and therefore a fussy baby) will appreciate this recipe immensely.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 20 cookies

Oats ready for the cookie dough

Ingredients
1 cup butter melted
1.5 cups brown sugar
4 tablespoons filtered water
2 tablespoons flaxseed meal
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups oats
2 cups plain flour
1 cup sultanas or chocolate chips
4 tablespoons brewer's yeast

Brewers Yeast is the secret ingredient

Method
  • Cream the butter and brown sugar.
  • Mix the dry ingredients together, then add the wet ingredients. Combine until the mixture becomes pliable. Roll it into balls, then squash flat (optional).
  • Grease and line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the cookies on the tray and bake for 30 minutes in a moderate oven (or until golden brown). Cool and eat and await the surprising results. My sister swears by these and has a supply permanently in her pantry cupboard.
