Matcha Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls and nicecream bowls are my absolute favourite breakfast or lunch. The flavour combinations are endless and they are a breeze to make. For a smoothie bowl use fresh bananas. For a nicecream bowl use frozen.

I like a lot of greens in my smoothies but if you are new to adding greens, start with half a cup or spinach or cos, you can not taste them at all!

Preparation Time: 3 minutes
Cooking Time: 0 minutes
Makes: 1 servings

Ingredients
400 grams banana
1 tsp-tbsp match powder
1 handful of spinach
1/2 cup water (coconut water or non dairy milk)

TO TOP
1 tsp coconut sugar
1 tbsp toasted buckwheat
1 tbsp coconut flakes
1 tsp flax seeds
1 tsb mixed nuts
4 dried cranberries

Method
  • Blend the spinach and water until smooth. I blend the spinach first to ensure no chunks end up in my bowl.

  • Next add the bananas and matcha powder and blend until you have a smooth liquid. Adjust water amount until you reach your desired consistency. Likewise adjust the amount of matcha to your taste.

  • Pour into a bowl and top!

  • As matcha is quite bitter I added coconut sugar as well as a mix of nuts, seeds and dried fruits.
