Microwave Steamed Rice

The easiest way to cook rice that I've found without using a rice cooker.

Preparation Time: 1 minute
Cooking Time: 12 minutes
Makes: 2 servings

Ingredients
1 cup jasmine rice
2 1/4 cups boiling water


Method
  • Place the rice into a 2.5 litre microwave dish that has a lid.
  • Pour the boiling water over the rice.


  • Place in the microwave and cook, covered for 12 minutes.
  • When the time is up, quickly check all the water has evaporated. if yes then replace cover. If there is still a little water cook for another minute.


  • When you're ready to serve run a fork through the rice, place on a plate.
