Mild Butter Chicken Curry

A mild chicken dish that melts in your mouth.



This is a really easy chicken curry dish that is perfect for when you are in a hurry. I use curry paste which has all the spices in it for butter chicken, but you can of course substitute the paste for real spices. I also use yoghurt rather than cream because it gives the dish a zesty flavour.

This dish is perfect for the whole family because it is mild and tasty. I use chicken thighs rather than breast because it makes the dish more tender.

Enjoy with plain rice or a lemon rice recipe. Use your favourite naan bread or roti as a dipping bread.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 5 servings

Ingredients
1kg of chicken thighs
3 tablespoons butter chicken paste
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 cup of yoghurt or cream
Rice

Method
  • Dice the chicken up into cubes.
  • Fry the onion and garlic up on oil.



  • Add the chicken to the pan and cook until the chicken has changed colour.



  • Add the butter chicken paste. (You can find the paste in all good Asian and Indian specialty stores)



  • Add the yoghurt or cream and stir together



  • Serve up on a bed of rice.
