Mince Pie

Mince Pie is one of the easiest, most delicious dishes that you can serve to hungry family members or friends on any occasion.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 1.5 hours
Makes: 8 servings

500g beef mince
1 onion (finely chopped)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup frozen beans
2 heaped tbsp. Gravox gravy powder
2 heaped tbsp. plain flour
2 sheets ready rolled frozen puff pastry
1 or 2 beef stock cubes

Spray some oil in a frying pan and cook the mince until it turns brown.

Add the beef stock cubes into the mince mix by crushing it to a powdered form.

Mix the gravy powder and flour to a smooth paste with cold water.

Add salt and pepper.

Add frozen beans, spring onions and regular onion into the mince mix.

Stir the gravy mix into mince and add water until the desired consistency is reached.

Place a sheet of puff pastry in base of a 25cm pie dish.

Fill the dish with the mince mix.

Top the dish with a second sheet of pastry.

If there are any spare bits of the pastry, simply place it over the second sheet of pastry.

Beat an egg and gently glaze it over the pastry top.

Bake the dish in a very hot (220 degrees Celsius) oven till the top turns golden brown.
