Moong daal mangodi is a popular snack item from North India, enjoyed specially during the rainy season.Easy to make and delicious in taste

Preparation Time: 15 minute
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 7 servings

Ingredients

1 cup green lentils (Moong Dal)
Finely chopped ginger
1 finely chopped green chilli
1 finely chopped onion
2 tbsp gram flour (Besan)
6 tbsp oil
1/2 tbsp salt

Method

  • Wash the green lentils properly and soak it for 2 hours.

  • Grind the green lentils with finely chopped ginger and green chilli. Ensure that you add just 2 -3 spoons of water to make a thick paste.

  • Add 2 tbs of gram flour to bind the above paste properly.

  • Add finely chopped oiniosn and blend itproperly with the paste.

  • Heat oil in a frying pan and add 1 tbs of the above paste by using hand or a small spoon.

  • Fry it on a low flame until golden brown and serve it hot with sauce or green chutney.
