Oreo Baked Cheesecake

Oreo Baked Cheesecake

Oreo biscuits can of course be eaten on their own, however teamed with cheesecake, they make a wonderful pair!

The Oreo's are mainly used for the base with a few cut up ones, scattered on top for decoration.

Beware, although this is a smooth, delightful cake, it is quite rich, so do not cut the pieces very large.

I have used coconut sugar as this is not a real sugar and is not refined like castor sugar.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 35 - 40 minutes
Makes: about 10 servings

Ingredients
200 g Oreo biscuits
500 g cream cheese
45 g butter, melted
½ cup milk
1 cup coconut sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs, lightly beaten

Method
  • Preheat the oven to 170° fan forced, and either grease or line a springform pan.

  • Crush 150 g of Oreos, add the melted butter, mix slightly, and put in the tin.
  • Do NOT press this down firmly

  • Refrigerate this while you make the cheesecake.

  • In a mixer, gradually combine the cream cheese, milk, beaten eggs, sugar and vanilla, and mix till the cheese is smooth.

  • Carefully pour this cheesecake mixture over the Orea crumb base. Cut up a few Oreo biscuits and sprinkle over the top.

  • Bake for about 35 - 45 minutes or until just cooked.

  • Let it cool for at least 15 minutes and then take out of springform.

  • Serve it with ice cream or cream if desired.
  • Do not cut slices as thick as I did, as it is quite rich
