Pan-Grilled Salmon with Teriyaki Sauce Glaze

One of the easiest and quickest meal to cook for your family. It's fresh and healthy, you can serve this with your favourite salad or steamed veges instead of kimchi.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 8 minutes
Makes: 2 servings

2 salmon fillets
steamed Japanese rice, to serve
Korean kimchi, to serve
roasted sesame seeds, to serve

Teriyaki Sauce
1/2 onion, finely grated
1-cm ginger, finely grated
3 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp water
1 1/2 tbsp cooking sake
1 1/2 tbsp mirin
2 tbsp sugar

Wash and pat dry the salmon fillets. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

In a saucepan, add in all the sauce ingredients. Bring to the boil, turn the heat down and continue to simmer while stirring until sauce thickens.

Heat oil in a grill pan. Place the salmon, skin side down, grill for 5 minutes until skin is crispy. Gently flip and continue to grill for 3 minutes or until done to your liking.

Place the grilled salmon on a serving dish, pour over the teriyaki sauce glaze, sprinkle with roasted sesame seeds.

Serve immediately with steamed rice and kimchi.
