If you are fed up with the traditional turkey after Christmas, this simple recipe gives you the perfect snack to enjoy with a drink while helping you get rid of any leftover turkey mince in the fridge.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 7 minutes
Makes: 2 servings

Ingredients
200g turkey mince
1 tbsp onion, finely chopped
1tsp dried oregano
1tsp chopped parsley
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 egg
A bag of round dumpling wrappers (or you can make the wrappers yourself)
1/2 cup of water
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp cooking oil

Method
  • Put the turkey mince in a bowl. Add onion, oregano parsley, pepper and salt. Mix well.

  • Beat the egg in a small bowl to use as egg wash.
  • Pick up a wrapper in your hand. If you are making the wrappers yourself, notice that the pan-fried dumplings taste better with thin wrappers. Put a spoon of the turkey mix in the middle.

  • Spread the egg wash around the edge to make the wrapper sticky and fold it in half, press to seal.

  • Pinch the edge of the wrapper and make a fold. Create identical folds along the edge in the same direction.

  • Heat up the pan and add the cooking oil. Once the oil is hot enough, place the dumplings in and let them sear for 1 minutes until the dumplings turn golden brown. Flip the dumplings and do the same. Quickly add water and cover the pan with a lid. Let the dumplings steam for another 3-4 minutes. Uncover the lid and let any extra water evaporate.

  • Transfer them to a plate. This dish is best served hot with chilli sauce or soy sauce.
