Peanut Butter And Chocolate Chip Truffle Balls
Moorish peanut butter and chocolate balls

Either eat as is, dip in melted chocolate, or roll in cocoa, desiccated coconut or crushed nuts. They are great to eat, store or wrap as gifts.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 15

1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 tbsp melted butter (optional)
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup chocolate chips (or cocoa chips)
Desiccated coconut, for rolling (optional)
90 g cooking chocolate, melted for coating or 1/3 cup cocoa, 2 tbsp maple syrup and 1 tbsp coconut oil combined (optional)
Crushed peanuts, for rolling (optional)

Put baking paper on a baking tray.
Place the peanut butter, honey, vanilla essence, salt and butter into a bowl and stir until combined.

The peanut butter mixture will be slightly shiny when combined

Add the chocolate chips to the peanut mixture and stir until combined.

Peanut butter and chocolate are a match made in heaven

Roll the peanut butter and chocolate chip mixture into 3-4cm balls using 2 teaspoons or wet hands. If desired, skewer the balls and dip into the melted chocolate, or roll in cocoa, desiccated coconut or crushed peanuts and refrigerate for 20 minutes, or until set.
Serve or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.

Rolling the balls in cocoa

The butter gives the balls an extra caramel flavour but is optional.
Eat as a frozen treat or defrost the balls for 10-15 minutes.
